At Sixes And Sevens

Sir Dr. Eak Prasad Duwadi

There would be times when you question your knowledge

First few moments of the classIntroduced myself as an extremist, 2 minutes after I entered the first class of Legal English to Sir Dr. Eak Prasad Duwadi. Sir took it positively as the word extremist has many meanings; sometimes the person with strong political views is denoted extremist which does not fit with my persona as for being the "uninterested in politics" person. Ironically, I have chosen the career which requires me to analyze politics to know the law.

During the classI was fascinated when Sir Dr. Duwadi shared his presentation, explaining him and his journey. This was the first encounter when a teacher was explaining his journey rather than asking us to. This was perhaps the way sir involves his students, and I did get involved. I got to research about Amish people through sir and yet again begun my research on the rights of indigenous personalities of Nepal.

Learning Pyramid was the next fascinating part. When we were shown the pyramid, the last part viewed as "Teach Others" caught my attention. And I did get the hint of the fact sir was trying to explain that the ultimate test of whether we learnt or not will be when we can actually make others understand the things we learned.

Last moments of the classRote learning and extra activities were the final terms sir explained before we ended the class. Being a science student before, I constantly heard the term "rote learning", when people used to tell me how all a science student does is rote. Extra activities reminded me of my Baba, who tells me that a person should always try to learn about everything in the world while telling me to be highly ambitious. Reflecting on the class, I found myself indulged mostly.

With the hope of learning more and faith in myself, tomorrow will be another adventure.
